Warning: Ringtone may cause Tribal War.

Check this out: a ringtone is responsible for tribal violence...
"The attack was triggered by an offensive ringtone circulating among the Yoka tribe that allegedly contained insulting lyrics directed at the Wamena tribe, playing to a reggae beat".
I wonder why they chose a reggae beat? Wish they would have included a clip of it!

Tim Fite!

Okay guys, so I went to a concert on Monday night at the Hi-Dive. I love going to concerts without any expectations which is what I did this time since I was invited by a friend and didn't know anything about any of the bands that were playing.

So, Tim Fite opened for Azure Ray and Tim Kasher. We were waiting for things to get started and this guy in white overalls and a shaved head (except for some long stringy pieces on top) gets up on stage and starts rockin it! He had such great stage presence and his show was actually a performance, it was smart and funny and was a little indie/hip hop/country. You could also tell that he totally got into it and he put on such a great show. The Rambo song was hilarious and definitely worth checking out.

I didn't stick around to see Azure Ray's whole performance, they're stuff isn't really my style--- girly, breathy harmonies- meh. So I went next door to Sputnik for some yummy vegan tacos. Tim Kasher was pretty good but I didn't stick around for the whole thing because my lame ass usually goes to bed at 9:30. Before I left I had to pick up one of Tim Fite's albums though so I chose Fair Ain't Fair which I have been rockin' in my car since Monday night. Every time I listen to it, I get into it even more so here are a few of my favorites:

Big Mistake
Yesterday's Garden
More Clothes

Enjoy.

Rock on

After reading this blog post, I hope that one day when I do have kids of my own, I will let my kids be who they are even though it takes a lot of courage :)

It was foretold.

Lincoln, Nebraska – A man dressed as a breathalyzer was arrested for alleged drunk driving after leaving a party.
Chief of Police, Tom Casady, said: “Because I can’t make this stuff up, yesterday morning after the bars closed, Officer Tyler Nitz arrested this man for drunk driving. The defendant was still dressed in his Halloween costume and he tested more than twice the legal limit.”
“He was joined at the detox center by a French maid and a naughty border patrol agent.”
Oh I love that this happened in my home State of Nebraska, we do love Halloween.

Don't mess with this guy.

Passive-Aggressive Note of the Day: To be fair, I’d be pretty P.O.’d if someone parked on my privates.
[pan.]

What can I say? This was not on my car but I had to laugh because when I saw it I remembered when my friend Amanda got one of these on her car this summer at my apartment complex. Not quite as mean as this but I bet that was the last time anyone parked on his privates...

Finally! My dream man

This American Life- get it!

So, can I just say right now how much I absolutely love This American Life? I've been listening to it for about a 2 years now after hearing about it from a friend of mine and it has turned into an addiction of mine!

If you haven't heard about TAL before, it's a radio show on NPR. On each episode, they have a theme and tell different stories based on that theme. It's hosted by Ira Glass, who, I have to say, I have a bit of a crush on... and so does just about everyone else who listens to the show, girls and guys alike.

It's great for road trips, which I make frequently back to my hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. Usually if I'm listening to it in the car and I get to where I'm going, if the show isn't over yet I will wait in my car until the show ends.... it's that good.

I do love NPR in general but I hate catching the show half way through so you can download episodes on iTunes. And if you're a cheapo like me you can stream episodes on your computer and subscribing to the podcast is free too! Plus, one of the main reasons I want an iPhone is because there's a TAL app and you get every episode EVER! So get you're Ira fix ya'll!

Foxy Shazam - Oh Lord [Official]

We've only just begun...

So, here it is, my first blog. Ta da! I figured I would let the world in on what I've been up to so here you go folks.

I just want to use this blog as a way to keep up with my friends as well as myself. I think it will be fun to look back at things I was up to or into or what have you... I won't go into a lot of detail about myself, we'll just let it unfold ;)

I am going to give a shout out to my dear friend Amanda who has been waiting for a link to the blog I said I would start two months ago. Here's to you Amanda, the only person that will be reading this!

Oh, and here is a picture of my puppy, Stella! If this doesn't keep you coming back for more I honestly don't know what will.
